About the Family Early Defense Network
The Family Early Defense Network (FEDN) is funded by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation (TAJF). The network is a project of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid in collaboration with Texas Legal Services Center (TLSC), Lone Star Legal Aid (LSLA), and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT). FEDN aims to provide early comprehensive legal support to low-income Texan families facing intervention by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Service (DFPS) as well as protect the dignity of families whose poverty-related circumstances are systematically misrepresented as abuse or neglect.
